Training of Adult Leaders is very important to the success of Pack 214 and the Cub Scout Program.
Adult Training begins with Faststart and Youth Protection Training.
Both of these are provided online, while Youth Protection is also available in person.

Youth Protection Training is for adult volunteer leaders, parents, and all interested in the health and safety of young people.

New Leaders Essentials is the next step and helps with developing an understanding of Scouting goals, organization and programs. This training is the beginning point and is a required component to be considered a trained Cub Scout leader. This training is usually 2 hours in length.

Cub Scout Leader Specific Training is designed for the Den Leader and Assistant Den Leader, Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmaster, and Committee Member. This training is usually 2 hours in length.

COST: Included with New Leader Essentials.
Leader Outdoor Experience (LOE) is a supplemental training for all leaders involved in the Cub Scout program. LOE is held four times yearly. Two courses are held in the spring and two courses are held in the fall. LOE begins on Saturday morning at 8:00 am and ends on Sunday afternoon around 1:30 pm. Leaders will be provided with 3 meals and a snack. Upon completion of the course leaders will receive a patch and participation card and a lot of take home projects.
Webelos leaders are required to have this course in order to receive their Webelos leader recognition knot.

Pow Wow is for adult volunteer leaders, parents, and all interested in helping provide a fun and interesting Cub Scout Program. Under one roof, you will find help on programs, crafts and games — the core of Cub Scouting. There are classrooms sessions, hands-on skill sessions, door prizes and a midway full of booths for places to go, things to do and people to help you do it.
Attendees will also get the Pow Wow Book. A 200+ page publication filled with ideas and resources for the program year. For persons who wish they could attend every session, check out the special section with presenter handouts.

University of Scouting is the place to learn the best methods and strategies for providing a high-quality Scouting program to your youth members at this one-day seminar. Veteran leaders share ideas on all areas of the Scouting program. Subjects vary from helping Scouts with Attention Deficit Disorder to preparing for a trip to a High Adventure Base.

Pressurized Fuel Training is the place where Adult Scouters can gain qualification in order to use pressurized fuel items (lanterns, stoves, etc.) at any Scout Camp. This also includes the use of propane items. You must have the training in order to use at Camp.
